There are many good reasons why to replace your regular old clocks with clearer, easy to read large clocks. Maybe you are getting older and your eye sight is not as good as it once was, or maybe you are just sick of straining your eyes to read the time over a long distance. Either way, there is a large wall clock for you.
If you like a plain, no nonsense black on white wall clock then there are plenty of places to buy from, and the only choice you need to make is how much you want to spend. You can get a good, easy to read clock from any department store. If you can’t find exactly what you are after, such as if you want an extra large wall clock, you can always try online stores such as amazon or ebay sellers. Extra large clocks are now becoming popular in schools and other institutions, as they have quite a presence – it is just not possible to ignore a clock that is twice as big as is normal, and it really keeps you noticing and checking the time all day.
If you are after some slightly more interesting large clocks, then perhaps you are looking for a Karlsson clock. Karlsson are a Dutch company that make specialty clocks, ranging from mild to pretty wild. They are not terribly expensive, as one might have expected, but can be a little hard to obtain in some countries. Outside of Europe and the US you will probably need to check them out online, and buy from an online store (not that this is a bad thing – you will probably save money!). If you like something really eye catching then one of Karlsson’s large clocks should be on your list. They have super cool retro designs, as well as really mind bending designs that expose all the clock mechanisms and make you wonder how it manages to stay together. Or if you want something that is just weird, get one of their binary clocks that display every number on a digital readout, but in binary code (all ones and zero’s…very weird in fact).
Of course if your home is a bit of a showcase for antiques, you may just go with your theme and buy an antique wall clock. Many large clocks were built in the 1800s through to the 1900s, and survive well into the present day. Yes, they will be a little expensive, but this might really set off your home beautifully.
