Where to buy wall clocks

When you want new wall clocks, whether as a gift for Great Aunt Milly whose eyesight is making it difficult for her to see her watch these days, or for your kid brother, who’s just learnt how to tell the time, for your sister, who’s had a new baby and you want to buy her a cute new wall clock for the nursery, or maybe just for your own place, you may ask yourself where to go to buy it.  And sure enough, you will probably think first of Walmart and IKEA such other superstores, which, granted, do tend to have a bit of everything.  But keep in mind, that just because a place has a bit of everything, it is the best place for a good find.  Often you will find run-of-the-mill products in such stores which everybody has, or everybody has seen, and that’s not usually a very attractive idea when you want a particular kind of item.  When you are after a wall clock for a gift on a special occasion, or a wall centerpiece, or something to really stand out and be unique, don’t trundle off to Walmart but go and find a more specialty store.  Here are some suggestions.

Find a garden store, and check out what they have to offer.  Usually garden stores also sell itty-bitty things and several large centerpiece-style-items and you will usually find some pretty impressive wall clocks in there.  Not just big ceramic outdoor clocks, or sundials (although they are wonderful too), but indoor clocks with a bit of jazz.

Don’t forget antique stores and thrift store for old wall clocks and rare antiques.

Get a wall clock made up with your own photograph or choice of print.  Many print-on-demand services and photography products stores will now make all sorts of things for you – often including personalized large wall clocks.

Novelty stores.  You don’t always find rubber chicken shaped things in these stores… often you will find quite nice, but slightly out-of-the-ordinary things, for instance what about an enormously large digital wall clock – sure to impress!  Or perhaps a LED flashing wall clock, r even something more mysterious…

Toy shops.  If you are after a nursery clock or a children’s bedroom clock, or a clock to teach telling the time, definitely head to the local toy store and see what you can find.  There are sure to be character wall clocks of every description, like Disney characters etc, and nursery-themed clocks like Winnie The Pooh, Thomas The Tank Engine, Noddy, etc.  Toy shops are a good bet for kids wall clocks.

Of course you may just be after a plain old white or black wall clock, these will be easier to find.

Use your imagination and creativity when you walk through the mall next time and you will probably see all sorts of shops that would have a themed clock of some sort.  Just about any store eg sports, computer, office stores will have themed clocks for that particular style.
