Stylish and functional Outdoor Clocks

Apart from the obvious reason of keeping time, outdoor clocks are a great way to give your garden that decorative look. The clocks serve as functional and decorative items, especially during the summer season.
During summer people tend to spend most of their time outdoors. The clocks will come in handy as some activities like outdoor games or entertainment require time keeping. With an outdoor clock you will not necessarily need to go indoors to check on the time on your wall clock.
Outdoor clocks come in many attractive styles and shapes. There are formal clocks with that classic look of roman numerals and other new versions with Arabic numerals. Round is the basic shape used in making clocks, but now manufacturers are using various shapes that still have a great look.
Where to place the clock, is not an easy job for most people. First you should consider the use of the clock; where is it going to be used most? Then think of the best place to mount it so as it is visible and protected. You can hang if from a tree, especially if it’s a double-sided clock or place it under the eaves.
Many Outdoor clocks can have other incorporated functions like the measure of humidity, temperature, wind direction or moon phases’ information depending on the accessories added to it.
The clocks are made uniquely for the outdoors. The materials used are resistant to elements such as sun, rain and snow, although you should store your clock indoors during extreme weather conditions.
Outdoor clocks run on quartz or alkaline batteries which should be replaced just like in any other clocks. Today, many outdoor clocks are powered by solar energy to save energy. The clocks have back up batteries which are charged during the day as the clock runs on solar power and used during the night. Choose a clock that best fits your needs and complements on your garden décor.
